What Shall I Do?
What shall I do with this one you call the King of the Jews?
1) It is a persoanl question.
2) it is a question that demands action.
3) What am I to do, about Jesus?
Mark 15:1-15
Mark 15
Jesus Before Pilate
1 Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law and the whole Sanhedrin, reached a decision. They bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate.
2 "Are you the king of the Jews?" asked Pilate.
"Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied.
3 The chief priests accused him of many things. 4 So again Pilate asked him, "Aren't you going to answer? See how many things they are accusing you of."
5 But Jesus still made no reply, and Pilate was amazed.
6 Now it was the custom at the Feast to release a prisoner whom the people requested. 7 A man called Barabbas was in prison with the insurrectionists who had committed murder in the uprising. 8 The crowd came up and asked Pilate to do for them what he usually did.
9 "Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?" asked Pilate, 10 knowing it was out of envy that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him. 11 But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas instead.
12 "What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?" Pilate asked them.
13 "Crucify him!" they shouted.
14 "Why? What crime has he committed?" asked Pilate.
But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify him!"
15 Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.
* Pilate knew Jesus was innocent.
* They released Barabbas out of envy.
* Pilates wife had a dream & sent a message that Jesus was innocent.
* Pilate knew what was right, but did what was wrong.
* Pilte thinks if he has Jesus beaten, then they would release him. He washed his hands & said enough.
* The crowd (family) has an influence sometimes positive &/or negative.
Mark 14:60-65
60 Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?" 61 But Jesus remained silent and gave no answer.
Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?"
62 "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
63 The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses?" he asked. 64 "You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?"
They all condemned him as worthy of death. 65 Then some began to spit at him; they blindfolded him, struck him with their fists, and said, "Prophesy!" And the guards took him and beat him.
* Jesus reminded them that one day he will be their judge.
The King
15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16 and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. 17 And as he taught them, he said, "Is it not written:
" 'My house will be called
a house of prayer for all nations'? But you have made it 'a den of robbers.'"
1) Acknowledge
2) Seek
3) Praise
1 Corinthians 6:19 & 20
19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
2 Corinthians 6:16 & 7:1
16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."
1 Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
1) I am the temple of God
Mark 10:45
45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
2) I am to partner with the Holy Spirit to keep this temple clean & fill God's purpose in my life.
Psalm 46:7 & 10
10 "Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
1) Stop
Psalm 139:23 & 24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
2) Look
1 Peter 2:11 & 12, 21-25
11 Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
22 "He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth." 23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
3) Listen & Obey
To Seek God's Face
Psalms 27:8
Joy Journal
I heard... the news today that my best friend is pregnant! She & her husband have been waiting for a baby of their own for 12 years. Thank You God!!
I read... about stress & how is stills the joy & spontaneity from my life!
I wondered... how much more weigh I can lose before my friends 30th birthday party!?!
I smelled... my perfume & reminded myself to not save it for a special occasion, because life is to short.
I laughed about... turning 30 in a few short months. I feel so good about turning 30 & knowing that everyday I am getting thinner & will be healthier for myself & my family.
I was grateful for... my family. My husband loves me & works hard to provide for us. My girls make me smile! I am so grateful that we have beautiful & healthy children. I am also grateful that Jesus died on the cross for my sins & that one day I will go to heaven to live with Him!

Dear Lord
I thank You for my being able to see
and to hear this morning.
I'm blessed because You are
a forgiving God and
an understanding God.
You have done so much for me
and You keep on blessing me.
Forgive me this day for everything
I have done, said or thought
that was not pleasing to you.
I ask now for Your forgiveness.
Please keep me safe
from all danger and harm.
Help me to start this day
with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.
Let me make the best of each and every day
to clear my mind so that I can hear from You.
Please broaden my mind
that I can accept all things.
Let me not whine and whimper
over things I have no control over.
And give me the best response
when I'm pushed beyond my limits...
I know that when I can't pray,
You listen to my heart.
Continue to use me to do Your will.
Continue to bless me that I may be
a blessing to others.
Keep me strong that I may help the weak....
Keep me uplifted that I may have
words of encouragement for others.
I pray for those that are lost
and can't find their way.
I pray for those that are misjudged
and misunderstood.
I pray for those who
don't know You intimately.
I pray for those that don't believe.
But I thank You that I believe
that God changes people and
God changes things.
I pray for all my sisters and brothers.
For each and every family member
in their households.
I pray for peace, love and joy
in their homes; that they are out of debt
and all their needs are met.
I pray that every eye that reads this
knows there is no problem, circumstance,
or situation greater than God.
Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.
I pray that these words be received
into the hearts of every eye that sees it
in Jesus' name.

What Is the Measure of Greatness?
Mark 10:32-45
Jesus Again Predicts His Death
43) Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44) and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45) For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as ransom for many.
Focus on 43) "Not So With You!" This means: Not My Way, but Jesus Way!
2) Define the Expression of Greatness
John 13:12-17
Jesus Washes His Disciples' Feet
15) I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. 16) I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17) Now that you know these things, you will be blesses if you do them.
3) Show the Example of Greatness
Philippians 2:4-8
Imitating Christ's Humility
4) Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5) Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ: 8) And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death -even death on a cross!
1) Sacrifice of Self
2) Service to Others
3) Show Example of God

Love Never Fails
It fits perfectly with the 1 Corinthians "Love Passage"
Sunday, February 14, 2010
Love
I enjoyed reading it so much, I decided to post it too!
1 Corinthians 13
Love
4)Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5)It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6)Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7)It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8)Love never fails.
13)And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
When I am loved, I can make mistakes. I can lose my temper. I can be late, I can cry. I can grow at my own pace because love is patient.
When I am loved, I know that encouragement and reproof will be given gently, and that things that are important to me will be important to the one who loves me because love is kind.
When I am loved, I know that I can have talents and strengths and successes that may be even greater in some areas than the one who loves me, and that those talents and strengths and successes will be encouraged and supported, because love does not envy.
And I know that I will not be in competition with the one who loves me because love isn't proud.
Whatever either of us can learn to be simply makes us a stronger unit of love. When I am loved, I can know that my interests and feelings and tears and laughter count. I can trust my deepest needs and greatest fears to the one who loves and know that I will be listened to and protected and cradled because love is not rude or self-seeking.
When I am loved, I know that my bad moods or hard days or selfish time won't be met with intolerance or standards of performance that I can't measure up to. I know that it's all right to be imperfect. I know that I have some freedom to say things that I might not really mean or to react immaturely or to release a little frustration because love is not easily angered.
I have more than one chance, I have a lifetime of chances. When I am loved I can make a mistake today and not have to apologize for it for the next three years because love makes no record of wrongs.
When I am loved the very nature of God becomes real to me because love rejoices with the truth.
When I am loved, I come to know God. When I am loved, I have a place to run and hide from the attacks of Satan where I am safe. I have a refuge. I have a place where I know I am always welcome because love protects.
When I am loved, I am allowed to know the hidden thoughts of the one who loves because love trusts.
When I am loved, I have the joy of becoming everything that God intends for me to become, everything that He promises I can be, because love hopes, and hope is built on what we know is going to happen.
And, finally, when I am loved I don't have to be afraid that it will go away today or tomorrow or forever, because love perseveres.

The Calvary Road
Mark 8:34-38
Verse 38 really caught my attention!
38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels.
In This Generation!!!! Oh My!! The Bible was written so very long ago, and the fact that this one verse rings true now in the 21st century!!!!
Sin Is Serious!!
3 Things to the Road of Calvary
1) The Road of Calvary is a Road of Surrender
2) The Calvary Road involves Submission to and Sacrifice for Jesus Christ
3)The Road of Calvary is a Road of Service
Surrender
Galatians 5:19-26
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 24 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
Submission
Ephesians 4: 22-32
24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. 26 "In your anger do not sin" Do not let the sun go down whole you are still angry 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Sacrifice
1 Corinthians 6: 19-20
19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
Service
Mark 10:45
45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
* Love God and Love Others *

Keeping Rhythm With God
I thought it was really sweet!
Bro. Darryl really broke it down so the kids could understand it.
He had a jump rope & asked the kids if they could sing out loud & jump rope at the same time, while keeping in rhythm.
He jumped rope while he & the kids sang "Jesus Loves Me".
He closed it with this verse:
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my dear children, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
After that we listened to personal testimonies on how people had been touched by God over the previous week.
Lord Touch Me Again
The Healing of a Blind Man
This story amazes me!
The fact that Jesus touched this blind man's eyes & then the man's sight was restored!
Yes, it took two times for Jesus to touch his eyes, but I could touch someone a million times they would never be healed!
I learned some very valuable information from this sermon!
1) God deals with us individually
2) There are times we need a 2nd touch
3) Spiritual vision from the Lord helps to see clearly the work of God
To be touched by God it takes Absolute Surrender & Obedience!
Luke 9:23
"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Come To The Lord With Authentic Worship
It was about Traditions!
The sermon came from Mark 7:1-8
Clean and Unclean
This is my paraphrase:
Jesus and some of his disciples were invited to eat with some Pharisees.
The Pharisees saw them eating with unwashed hands and it offended them.
The Pharisees only eat after ceremoniously washing their hands. They do this as a tradition to their elders. They asked Jesus why he & his disciples don't wash before eating?!? Jesus called them hypocrites! He told them that they had gone away from God's commands & held on to traditions of man.
I was thinking about all the traditions in our family, on both sides.
Do we have any traditions that make hypocrites out of us!?!
Bro. Darryl explained two kinds of Hypocrisy:
1) Right Words But Wrong Attitude
Looking okay on the outside but not okay on the inside.
2)They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.
We also looked at John 4:24
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.
Worship
1) Must be Genuine
2) Must be Individual
3) Must be Realistic
And Matthew 22:37-39
37 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself."
Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand
When Bro. Darryl said open your Bible to Mark Ch. 6, a little bell rang in my head.
I have heard this story of the five loaves of bread & two fish, countless times.
I was genuinely surprised when this was the sermon.
The way that Bro. Darryl presented this story made me view it with a new light!
Mark 6:39-44
39 Then Jesus directed them to have all them people sit down in groups on the green grass. 40 So they sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. 41 Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42 They all ate and were satisfied, 43 and the disciples picked up the twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. 44 The number of men who had eaten was five thousand.
We also looked at 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
16 Be joyful always; 17 pray continually; 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
and 2 Corinthians: 3,5 & 15
3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 5 And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's will. 15as it is written: " He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little."
These are the three things I took away:
1) Bring It All To God & Hold Nothing Back
2) Give Thanks In All Circumstances
3) Break Us & Remake Us To Be Used For Gods Purpose
